Sent Forth

Refrain: Sent for to preach the Word
         Of our God, the risen Lord,
         Of His days among us
         Living out God's ways and truth.
         Sent forth to do God's work
         In the vineyard of the earth,
         Bringing hope to those
         Who yearn for justice, yearn for peace. 

1. God calls the people to act, to recreate,
   To take the clay that is our lives
   And mold anew, mold anew.
   The world is yearning for the presence of our God.
   She broods upon the waters of our days and breathes life.

2. No one places a lamp beneath a cask.
   They set it out to shine so b right
   For all to see, all to know. 
   We send our members as a sign of all we share,
   That the world may know the goodness
   Of this Jesus the Christ.
